Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remake is bringing a slew of changes to the loadout customization system with Gunsmith 2.0. This time around, instead of simply unlocking individual weapons, guns are now grouped into Weapon Platforms as “Receivers.” Changing a Receiver on a gun will change its attributes, and various Attachments will become available as you progress through the Weapon Platforms and Receiver levels. Currently, one Underbarrel Attachment that’s considered meta in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the VX Pineapple Vert Grip.

Thankfully, unlocking the Grip isn’t particularly hard, just a little bit confusing, considering we have to relearn how the new Gunsmith 2.0 works.

Unlocking VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment in COD: Modern Warfare 2

To unlock the VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you need to first unlock the 556 Icarus Light Machine Gun Receiver by leveling up your M4 Weapon Platform to Level 18. Afterward, use the 556 Icarus until you reach Level 15 for that Receiver type, and you should be able to get the VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment. To level up your Weapon Platforms and particular Receiver, simply get in a match, score some kills, and assist in any multiplayer mode using that gun.

For a quick recap, here’s the list of the M4 Weapon Platform upgrade tree that will let you unlock the VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:

  • M4: Base Receiver.
  • FTAC Recon BR: Unlocked at M4 Level 13 (Not necessary).
  • 556 Icarus LMG Receiver: Unlocked at M4 Level 18.
  • VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment: Unlocked at 556 Icarus Level 15.

It’s not that hard, right? Don’t forget that the second and last COD: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Weekend runs from September 24 at 10 AM PT to September 26 at 10 AM PT for all platforms with crossplay functionality activated — although Xbox users would need an Xbox LIVE subscription to play.

  • VX Pineapple Vert Grip Attachment: Unlocked at 556 Icarus Level 15.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remake will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Battle.net on October 28, 2022.
