According to data from the NPD Group, the best-selling game of 2022 in the United States is now Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, taking the top spot from Elden Ring.
Modern Warfare 2 is the Fastest-Selling Game
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is at the top of the November sales chart, indicating that it not only dethroned Elden Ring from the coveted top spot, it also held off competition from other games launched in October, such as God of War: Ragnarok and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
NPD Group says Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now the top-selling game of 2022. And the game surpassed Elden Ring, which had sold 17.5 million units as of September. However, the exact sales figure for Modern Warfare 2 was not provided.
On the other hand, with $1 billion in sales in just 10 days, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the fastest-selling game of the year and the franchise’s illustrious history.
Elden Ring is still the most popular and fastest-selling game ever by From Software. It also received several awards at The Game Awards 2022, including the Game of the Year trophy. Miyazaki, the game’s director, has promised that Elden Ring will receive more DLC after its Colosseum upgrade.
