Activision has deactivated the cross-play toggle key for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on PC and Xbox. In its release today, MWII has come up with a bug resulting in a malfunction of the Crossplay functionality just on two consoles. However, the bug did not interfere with the same function of the game for PlayStation console players.

Modern Warfare II Game’s Cross-Play Operation

Cross-play is a feature that enables players from various platforms to interact and play with one another. Call of Duty has made progress toward enabling the inter-play mode. Cross-play mode in CoD allows you to select players at all times, regardless of which console they are using.

However, there are times when cross-play is detrimental to players. On each platform, the UX/UI system for each game is unique and thus offers slight changes in gaming features. Furthermore, inter-platform games may offer certain technical advantages, resulting in unfair gameplay. As a result, gamers frequently have the option to toggle the Cross-Play on and off.

However, Xbox and PC Modern Warfare 2 players will not have complete control over turning this functionality on and off. Although the Cross-play option is available in the game’s settings, clicking on it makes it inactive.

When you select the cross-play option from the MWII menu on Xbox and PC, you will be forced to disable it. After that, you won’t be able to change the switches whenever you want.

This bug has displeased Xbox and PC users. In the past, Activision did the very same error with Call of Duty: Warzone. The outcome forced Xbox and PC players to choose from a large queue of players, which they didn’t like.

Now that this malfunction is a repeat, PC and Xbox players are unhappy. While there is a way to do it by using the cross-play option in Steam’s menu, there is no guarantee that it will work. As a result, players request that Activision fix the Cross play bug in CoD: Modern Warfare II game.
