For a long time, the Zelda 64 modding community has spent countless hours recreating the game with an online element added, after multiple versions of  The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Online left a lot to be desired. The team formed the ModLoader64 brand and application to not only emulate and play supported N64 titles. With good emulation of OOT and decent netcode, the stage was set for co-op shenanigans. While the team has been hard at work to support other titles like Banjo-Kazooie; the team has also been working on new skins and an exclusive Halloween map. As the modding community for Ocarina of Time Online has grown exponentially, so has the interest in a multiplayer setting. Announced in a Youtube video are the modifications and changes coming to the spooky event this season.

Showcased in the video is a tease of what players can expect to find when jumping into this Halloween Hyrule transformation. Adding 30 new skins for Link is a great incentive, especially considering the hilarious nature of each skin’s references. Seeing N64 Link cosplay as James Bond from Goldeneye 64 or even Superman from the infamous Superman 64 is a treat in and of itself. The entirety of Hyrule has been transformed into a grim version of itself, almost reminiscent of Lorule from Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Custom models and textures abound from Bombs to the player HUD has been aesthetically changed and rightfully spookified. The event is one in part of hopefully a long continuation of support for the great modding tools allowing players to join their way through Ocarina of Time. Whether it’s your first time playing or doing a randomizer with friends, there’s never been a better time to play through the 1998 classic.

While the event is available for a limited amount of time, you can keep the skins after the event ends. Lasting until November 3rd, check out the festivities and take part in what skin changes and updates multiplayer can bring to a Zelda experience.
