Monica Rambeau, better known as Photon, is taking flight in their own solo series this December. The five-part limited series comes from award-winning writer Eve L. Ewing and up-and-coming artist Michael Sta. Maria. This is the first time the iconic hero headlines their series and will explore the limitless power that makes her Photon.

What Do We Know About Monica Rambeau’s Solo Series?

Monica Rambeau has been an integral part of the Marvel Universe for some time now! She has been a part of iconic superhero teams like the Avengers and the Ultimates. Now, she gets the opportunity to explore her powers and what it means to do something alone. When a reality-shattering crisis emerges, Photon has no choice but to tackle it head-on and alone. However, doing so means reaching incredible new heights with her limitless powers and then going even further!

This journey will see Monica Rambeau soar through time and space to reach her full potential. It all kicks off when Photon is tasked with a special delivery across the cosmos. While this task seems simple enough, it soon becomes complex and the most dangerous mission the hero has faced.

Tell Me More!

Speaking with Marvel, writer Eve L. Ewing shared how much of an honor it is to take on the “story of a legacy character like Monica Rambeau.” While the hero has a long history within the Marvel Universe, spanning almost four decades, this is the first time she gets to spread her wings in a solo story. In fact, the last time Photon had any solo adventure was 30 years ago. Therefore, Ewing is excited to “tell the story in a way that both highlights her incredible cosmic abilities as well as her everyday, relatable struggles.” After all, a lot can change in 30 years.

Monica Rambeau: Photon #1 is out on December 7.
