The longsword has been a fan-favorite weapon since the Monster Hunter series debuted in 2001. Monster Hunter Rise keeps that trend going. The longsword is a terrific weapon for beginners to pick up as it is easy to learn and use. That doesn’t mean that it is limited to beginners only. The longsword is highly effective at all stages of gameplay, thanks to its slashes, critical hits, and counterattack options.

High Rank Longsword Build

This build is all about boosting overall attack and critical strikes. This is compounded by attacking weak spots with Weakness Exploit, so some monster knowledge goes a long way here. Stun Resistance, Flinch Free, and Hellfire Cloak provides some resistances and helps redirect that damage back at the monster.
