Switch owners have been enjoying Monster Hunter Rise since early this year. But with the upcoming PC port on January 2022, fans are begging Capcom to add either cross-save or cross-play functionality into Monster Hunter Rise. PC players hope there is at least a way to play with their friends on Switch, while Switch players would like to double-dip if they can transfer their progress to PC. In the TGS 2021 survey, Capcom even asked fans if they were interested in the features as well.

Unfortunately, the Osaka-based company itself has killed that hope. Over on the official Twitter account, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise is not getting any cross-save or cross-play for “this time.”

Nevertheless, there might still be hope for Monster Hunter Rise cross-save in the future. Do you remember when Capcom said there is no plan to release the G-Rank version of Monster Hunter Rise? Or when it said it is not planning to make a G-Rank version of Monster Hunter Generations? There are also cases of several Switch games getting a PC cross-save update later down the line, like Daemon X Machina, for example. The fast-paced mech game launched on Switch first in September 2019, and it was ported to PC five months later. Eventually, in December 2020, a patch added a cross-save function to the game.
