This week’s sales charts for the United Kingdom bring the first two big debuts of the year, with Monster Hunter: World and Dragon Ball FighterZ taking the first and second places in the list respectivelly. Capcom has many reasons to celebrate this morning, as Monster Hunter: World for PS4 and Xbox One has had by far the biggest debut of the franchise, and that’s only counting with physical sales. A clear majority of fans played the game on PS4, as that version attracted 72% of physical sales.

The game has received excellent reviews including our own, in which we said: “Monster Hunter: World is a revelation, taking a series that was once reserved for all but the most hardcore of fans and tweaking it enough to make it appeal to a new generation of gamers while still keeping its core perfectly intact.”

But while Monster Hunter has taken the top spot, that doesn’t mean Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball FighterZ has sold poorly, in fact, the game’s numbers are similar to those of 2015’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and considering digital sales it could be the best debut for a Dragon Ball game ever. Again, a 77% of players bought the game for PS4.

Those are not the only new releases for the week, as The Inpatient becomes yet another PSVR game that manages to debut in the top 10, while the Nintendo 3DS port of Pokemon Crystal Version made number 12. It is also worth noting that while Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition missed the top 40 last week, it has managed to climb to number 30 in the charts.
