Monster Hunter World’s expansion, Iceborne, helped the game reach yet another milestone. As a result, Monster Hunter World solidified itself as the all-time best selling Capcom title. And it will probably retain the position for time to come.

Back in June, Capcom revealed that the game sold 13.1 million units. Then, on September 6, Monster Hunter World received the Iceborne expansion on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Now, Capcom states that the game surpassed the 14 million units mark, around the world. The total is comprehending shipments to retailers and digital sale. Though it isn’t reflective of the total units bought directly by the consumers.

Almost 1 million units in four months. And considering that Iceborne has been a best seller on its own right, it’s probable that a good percentage of those sells come from it.

It’s worth noting that Monster Hunter World’s success is destinated to grow even more. As Iceborne is yet to launch on PC. With the PC release set for January 2020.

Capcom obviously continues to support its creation. And after the events dedicated to Horizon Zero Dawn, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy XIV and The Witcher, it’s time for Resident Evil. As in November, World will receive the event dedicated to Capcom’s horror series. That will introduce Leon, Claire, Mr. X and other RE characters to Monster Hunter World.

In terms of popularity, the Monster Hunter franchise is comfortable in the second position among Capcom’s games. During its lifetime the Street Fighter series sold, until now, 43 million units, which granted the third place. While in the first position there is Resident Evil with 92 million sales. Monster Hunter, as said is in the second position with 58 million units sold. The game should comfortably reach the 60 million mark soon.
