Quest Designer Patrick Mills has provided an interesting statement about customization and role playing in Cyberpunk 2077, things that are going to be in the game despite its first person view.
You’ll remember that CD Projekt RED’s decision to go for the first person view was quite controversial, as many fans have anticipated for years something closer in terms of visual to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
“Well, it’s an RPG. It’s an RPG before it’s a shooter. And it’s really about making a character and inhabiting that character and living in this world and making choices from not just the point of view of that character but also of yourself. With The Witcher, you had Geralt, and Geralt had a history,” said Mills. (via Gameranx)
“He had decades of books, games, comics, and even television series, with a new one on the way, and it was about guiding him through his story. But with this, we want it to be your story. So really, putting you in first person is the only way to do that.”
That’s quite reassuring. Anyway, there’s a lot more and if you want to learn other things about the game you should check our E3 2018 Cyberpunk 2077 preview, which covers all the stuff you need to know about it.
