Over the past few months Nintendo’s little figurines, simply dubbed Amiibos, have been all over gaming news. Not only for their rarity, but for their interesting little factory defects that appear to raise the value.

After seeing a dual-wielding Samus and a legless Peach, fans might have thought they have seen all the best defects. Now comes word via Twitter and Reddit that a three-armed Princess Peach Amiibo is already on eBay. Another one I came across was also via Reddit, where Luigi was missing the trademark ‘L’ on his cap. Apparently this is not just a one-off thing as a few users mentioned they came across the same defect with Luigi. Finally, what I felt was the coolest one, was a dual-wielding Pit via Twitter.

It seems that Luigi has been confirmed legit as it has been seen by more than one person, but as for the other two it is still up in the air. It begs the question as to why there are so many defects. It could be that all these defects are due to Nintendo attempting to satisfy the demand faster than their ability to perform proper quality control. However, these defects do not seem to be negatively impacting sales; Amiibo sales have reached 710K in the U.S. since their release in November.
