More details have now been revealed for the new story saga coming to Dragon Ball Super in 2017. It is the tournament where all Universes will compete in.
Kanzenshuu translated the information that was featured on the Dragon Ball Super website. Both Omni King Zenos will be there along with the great priest who is the father of Vados and Whis.
Universe 7 will have a 10-person team of Buu, Krillin, Android 18, Android 17, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Master Roshi, Tien and Piccolo. This confirms that Goten and Trunks will indeed sit this tournament out.
The story synopsis says: “At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?!”
As always, Akira Toriyama has written the story and drafted the original characters for this saga. More details about this saga will be revealed this coming weekend during the Jump Festa event in Japan.
The new saga starts on February 5th, 2017. You can catch the English subs for these episodes via Crunchyroll, AnimeLab and more. The English dubs starts in January, although those episodes start from the beginning at the Battle of Gods saga. It will take a long time for them to catch up to the Japanese episodes. Dragon Ball Super has been airing nearly every week since July 2015.
