Prepare yourselves for more Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon: Go.

In a series of tweets on Thursday, August 1, Pokemon: GO developer Niantic revealed that eleven more Pokemon will be appearing in-game as shadow variants. For those who missed it, last month, Pokemon: GO added long-time Pokemon franchise antagonists Team Rocket to the game. At random Pokestops throughout the world Team Rocket would take over, turning the stop from the usual blue to black. Players can take the Pokestop back by battling and defeating the Team Rocket goon’s Pokemon. Of course, Team Rocket doesn’t roll with standard pokemon. They only use the corrupted shadow variants. If players can defeat Team Rocket they can catch one of these corrupted Pokemon and rehabilitate them through a process called Purification.

Luckily, we’ve intercepted a list. Take a look! ?? Poliwag ? Grimer? Muk ? Drowzee? Hypno? Cubone? Scyther? Magikarp? Houndour? Houndoom ? Ralts (coming soon!) pic.twitter.com/Q6IBAeZgbj

Here is the list of the latest Shadow Pokemon:

  • Poliwag
  • Grimer
  • Muk
  • Drowzee
  • Hypno
  • Cubone
  • Scyther
  • Magikarp
  • Houndour
  • Ralts

Those Pokemon join these from the initial Team Rocket Invasion:

  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Rattata
  • Zubat
  • Snorlax
  • Dratini
  • Mudkip

Once players have caught a Shadow Pokemon, they have the ability to purify them and return them to their natural state. Some players, who prefer the darker, more evil look have simply been keeping the Shadow variants the way they are even though purifying Shadow Pokemon makes them stronger.

Ahead of the Team Rocket invasion, Niantic released several smaller updates to Pokemon: Go which tweaked the battle and appraisal systems of the game. A gesture mechanic replaced tapping in the battle system and the appraisal surfaced some new stats and added a three-star rating. The changes were meant to make battles more engaging and to make the task of picking a team of Pokemon to take into battle easier.

Shadow Cubone sounds pretty Metal.
