With games set to take the stage at E3 2013, Microsoft has a lot to prove with their new system. The Xbox One has caught a bad rap in the press, with always online features, used game restrictions, and privacy concerns at the forefront of the conversation. The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the way people work. Back when the Xbox One was first announced, many people frowned on its focus on TV features more than video games. Microsoft is now changing its tune for the better. Financial Post interviewed Shannon Loftis who is the head of first-party publishing at Microsoft Studios. Loftis was asked if Microsoft’s efforts for announcing new games for Xbox One is an effort to win back the faith of customers. Loftis called their core fan base are “gamers” and they’re the type of audience that Microsoft plans to please....

Microsoft is introducing two new initiatives to try and improve Xbox Live. Named Xbox Community Level and Enforcement United, these programs encourage Xbox Live members to clean up the online experience for others. Xbox Community Level is the more diverse of the two, allowing players to level up and earn rewards by making Xbox Live a better place. Microsoft say that it was set up to ‘recognise and reward contributions’. Signing up to it will make you an Xbox Ambassador, and rewards can be earned by helping members of the forums that have problems, or by signing up to the Enforcement United beta....

After years of speculation and thousands (millions?) of fans asking for it, Mojang has finally announced that Minecraft: Wii U Edition is coming. The marriage of Minecraft and Nintendo has been long desired by fans as the two seemed to match so well in terms of audience and gameplay philosophy. The Wii U Gamepad also seems tailor made for Minecraft’s play style, with initial screenshots showing the inventory screen appearing on the device....

Minecraft Championship 14 is back, as the Noxcrew return from a five-month hiatus to bring us all the best competitive Minecraft on the internet. Sony San Diego Studio has released a new update for its multiplatform baseball sim MLB The Show 22, which fixes more than a few issues the game has been having across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The development team will be hoping that the MLB The Show 22 1.03 update hits a homer with the bug fixes and improvements it has made.
