The long-promised Omega-Level Threat mission type is finally coming to Marvel’s Avengers, and it will give players a significant challenge. These Omega-Level Threats are analogous to raids in other similar online multiplayer titles, so get ready for some lengthy and grueling combat sequences. The first Omega-Level Threat is titled Family Reunion, a revamped version of the mission of the same title from Kate Bishop’s Taking AIM campaign. Metro Exodus was initially slated to release in 2018, but before E3 it was unexpectedly delayed. The news came unanticipated, but it was clear that 4A Games and Deep Silver wanted to avoid the traffic in the Q4 launch window. Today, we have a new confirm of it, as the Ukrainian developer revealed that the game has been already completed in terms of content – so it’s kind of reached the gold stage of development, although not officially – and they’re taking the 8 months left until the release to further polish it....

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), a UK government department who strengthen business competition and prevent anti-competitive business actions, are investigating Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo regarding the company’s online subscription services to determine how fair they are. Namely, how the subscription services get renewed, and the CMA plan to learn if what the companies are doing is legal. The CMA is mostly interested in how the companies handle their auto-renewals, cancellations, refunds, and online terms and services....

Microsoft has launched its advanced mixed reality headset, the HoloLens 2, in India today. The Redmond giant announced the business-focused headset at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. It started shipping the device in global markets in November 2019. Although Microsoft did not launch its original HoloLens headset in India when it debuted back in 2016, the company has brought its second-gen mixed reality headset to the country to cater to enterprises....

New Xbox 720 rumors suggest that Microsoft’s next console will take a stronger stance against piracy than the Xbox 360 did. A report from Polygon claims that these always-online rumors that keep popping up are doing so because Microsoft will support digital rights management (DRM) and anti-piracy checks using an internet connection. Though the publication wasn’t sure on whether or not this would be a one-time authentication process or a constant connection, they claim that Microsoft will put the ball in the publisher’s court as to allow offline gameplay, giving game publishers better control over their copyrighted works....

With the latest Windows Insider Preview Build 19603 that started rolling out to Windows 10 Insiders in Fast Ring on Wednesday, Microsoft appears to have added a ‘What’s New’ page in Settings that is hidden by default, as spotted by Albacore on Twitter. Microsoft is also working on a place in Settings for people to discover new features. A nice touch after the variety of complaints about poor discoverability of various new small improvements....

Despite recent changes in management structure, most notably Stephen Elop as head of Microsoft’s Devices and Studios Division and Satya Nadella as CEO of Microsoft, Microsoft remains confident and committed to its Xbox brand, according to Phil Spencer. In his SXSW Gaming Panel, Spencer addressed how the studios and teams felt about the recent changes to Microsoft. “In a funny way, our job is to create great games on Xbox, on Windows, on Windows Phone, and the stuff that happens above the studios is kind of just ‘stuff’ to a lot of the studios, which I think is the right way....

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson has given his creation a November release date. More specifically he’ll launch his game on the same day as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim November 11, 2011. Minecraft will release alongside some of the biggest games of 2011 with Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, and expected unannounced titles like Call of Duty expected to release at the same time. Minecraft has been a huge success while in it’s Alpha and Beta stages for the game, the game has made $33 Million dollars since it launched less than two years ago....

Indie sensation, Minecraft, will be getting Kinect functionality in the near future. Alongside titles like Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Mass Effect 3, Notch’s creation game will be utilizing the motion controller. Kinect is obviously sharing the stage now with Microsoft’s core offerings, but if they can continue to surprise with titles that bridge the gap, core gamers might not mind too much. Since nearly everything about Microsoft’s press conference was already known, Minecraft was a pleasant surprise....

Dark Side of the Monster After a few days of being released for Early Access on Steam, the monster taming RPG known as Monster Crown has surpassed over its original successful Kickstarter campaign with more positive feedback from players. Its campaign was launched back in 2018 to overwhelming responses, having run through a month and ending with 9 times the initial expected support. At the time of this writing, the reception on Monster Crown‘s Steam page is currently “Very Positive” with 74 reviews....
